Darkest Legal Car Window Tint

To ensure that your car windows are tinted within the darkest legal limits that are permitted by law, we are equipped with a certified VLT meter. We use this piece of equipment to measure the visible light transmittance of your cars factory windows, and we then apply a window tint of the correct darkness.

FRONT DOORS

  • In all States and Territories of Australia, both front doors on all vehicles are permitted a maximum total of 35% VLT. This means that at least 35% of the total Visible Light must still Transmit through all the glass pieces that are fitted on both front doors of your vehicle after a window tint has been installed.


REAR DOORS AND REAR WINDOWS ON PASSENGER VEHICLES 

  • In all States of Australia, a maximum total of 20% VLT is permitted for all windows the that are located behind the driver seating position. This means that a total of 20% of the Visible Light must still Transmit past the glass after the window tint has been installed. 

REAR DOORS AND WINDOWS ON GOODS AND CARGO VEHICLES, AND BUSSES

  • In Queensland, all areas of a vehicle that are designed to carry goods, may in most cases be allowed a window tint with no limits of darkness. However, this rule is complex, and will depend on the use of each vehicle. 

 

FRONT WINDSCREEN

  • The front windscreen glass of all vehicles are not permitted to be completely covered with any type of window film.

  • Furthermore, a narrow top front Windscreen Banner, or a strip of window tint resembling a Tint visor, may be applied horizontally to the top section of a front windscreen. The film can be of any darkness, however, it must not exceed 10% of the total height of your windscreen, and remain clear from the path of your wipers.

  • NOTE : In most cases, you’ll find that it is not technically permitted on most vehicles front windscreen.

 

All Window Tint that is applied to any of your cars windows

  • must not reflect more than 10%. This means that the window tint must not appear shinny or reflect too much.

To ensure that your Window Tints are covered by Our warranty, your windows must be tinted within the legal limits.
